The inspiration for these pieces of work came from a trip with our painting association friends to St. Petersburg in June 2025.

During our visit to the renowned Saint Petersburg Repin Academy of Arts, we were utterly captivated by the institute’s imposing grandeur and deeply impressed by the breathtaking panorama view of the Neva River. The exquisite architectural Blagoveshchenskiy Bridge, which connects the two banks of the river, was so inspiring that left an indelible mark on us. In the morning, my friends and I would dash over the bridge, our footsteps echoing with excitement.  We’d retrace our steps over the bridge once more at dusk as there was nothing quite like experiencing the city’s mesmerizing white nights.

In response to these unforgettable experiences, I created two paintings. One captures a sun - drenched moment as we sprint towards the majestic St. Isaac’s Cathedral, our faces alight with joy. The other portrays us running towards the academy as the sun dips below the horizon, casting a warm, golden hue over everything. Both paintings convey our vibrant energy and eagerness to embrace all that the future unfolds.
